National School Counselors' Week

 January 15, 2014

Hello, NYS School Counselors:

Our special week - National School Counselors’ Week, February 3-7, 2014 – will be here before we know it.  This is our week to celebrate the work we do for all children and their entire school communities.   We all understand the vital role school counselors play in addressing the development of social-emotional, academic, and college and career readiness in all the students we serve. During National School Counselors’ Week, educators, students, parents and administrators are encouraged to recognize their Professional School Counselors for the positive impact we have, on a daily basis, preparing students at all educational levels to become successful and productive members of society.

Our job is not always an easy one, but it is a rewarding one. This is why we continue to give our all-and-all every day. Take advantage of the resources available through the NYSSCA website, as well as ASCA’s website, for resources available to promote your profession and National School Counselors’ Week.

On behalf of the New York State School Counselor Association’s Executive Board, we want to let you know how much You and your professional dedication are appreciated. Keep doing the fantastic job that we know you all are doing!

Ronald L. Smith
NYSSCA President 2013-2014
