Guidance Expo on October 21st!

The Dignity For All Students Act: What You Don’t Know Can Hurt You! (Sponsored by the Westchester, Putnam, Rockland Counseling Association- WPRCA)
This professional development session is designed to increase the knowledge, skills, and abilities around components of The Dignity for All Students Act . Guidance Counselors will be provided with experiential approaches to address the human relations concepts including, but not limited to, the eleven protected classes and reporting requirements that are mandated under the law. Participants will assess where they are in their school in relation to the Dignity concepts, and identify existing gaps that need to be addressed. Topics will be presented with practical examples of how they can be used and developed for staff training programs. Topics to be addressed include: school responsibility for implementing The Dignity for All Students Act ; Dignity & existing state and federal law; systems building; creating a positive school culture & climate; effective planning and implementation.
